Fit Camps

High Force Centre are working in partnership with Elements Outdoor and will be delivering specialised 'Fit camps' which will be the  the first major step in the pathway to discover a New You. Not only are you guaranteed to lose weight and increase your fitness level, you will uncover a new sense of self esteem, confidence and strength and ability that you never new you had.

The High Force  Element Outdoor fit camp, will aid you to develop a positive mindset that you can transfer into your daily routine. It will not abandon you after the camp, but work with you to put to use all that you have learnt and help to build a fitter, slimmer and stronger you. 

We are passionate about seeing you succeed. We pride ourselves in making a difference to your life and will promise to do all that we can to help you achieve your goals.  We believe that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. We also believe in having fun and while the fit camp will be challenging and at times hard work, there will be plenty of fun to lighten the load.

Why should I attend?

There are many reasons why you may want to attend a High Force  Element Outdoor fit camp. Some of these include:

What do they involve?

Variety is the spice of life and also the best way to improve full body fitness. Exercise is not all about running as fast as you can and as far as you can. At fit camp you will experience a whole range of different ways to exercise from a dance studio, to a mountain, to a river, to a park, to the comfort of a sitting room!

Instructors are not only qualified in health and fitness but also in teaching in the great outdoors. This ensures The High Force  Element Outdoor fit camp are diverse, challenging and full of opportunity to discover to the New You. Each afternoon at fit camp there will be the opportunity to engage in a specialist outdoor activity, from a canoe trip, mountain biking session, or more extreme gorge walk where the only limitation is you!

We are committed to ongoing weight loss success and to aid this, have incorporated some educational seminars into the fit camps. Nutrition and diet is a key element to the camps and key to long term weight management. We therefore, have a nutrition expert in our training team who will deliver an evening seminar and will be available for discussion and to provide individual nutritional advice.

While the fit camps are challenging, there is also plenty of time to recover, distress and focus on you. Included in our camps are unique callenetics sessions, flexibility and relaxation sessions, an individual massage, as well as a massage instruction class. As well as this we have a hot tub onsite, with lots of time to indulge and replenish those well worked muscles.

How fit do I need to be?

FIT CAMPS ARE OPEN TO ALL!! It does not matter what your shape, size, age or physical ability is you will be welcomed with open arms. You will have an initial one to one discussion with a trainer and the program will be tailored to you as an individual. So if you have never ran more than 20meters before or if you regularly run 20miles it will be YOUR fit camp.

How long do they last?

Currently our fit camps are running over 4 days.  They start on Thursday evenings, with arrivals from 7pm onwards and initial briefing at 9pm. They will run over 4 full days and finish on Monday afternoon at 4pm.

In the near future we expect to run mid-week 5 day fit camps and also weekend 2 day camps, as well as 1/2 day follow up support camps.

What do I need to bring?

You will be provided with a Kit list prior to the camp. However, this will cover basic clothing only. All technical equipment will be provided. So long as you have suitable walking shoes/trainers and some jogging bottoms/leggings then you can attend!

Where are they?

The  Camps are based at the High Force Centre in Forest-in- Teesdale. The accommodation is high quality bunk style, in a beautiful country setting in the heart of the North Pennines. The peace and tranquillity of the surroundings and the cosy centre, with open log fires and stunning views is the perfect place to switch off from your normal routine and focus entirely on YOU.

The nearest train station is Darlington and pick ups will be made from the train station.
